Here's what you need to know if you'd like to be considered as an instructor at the 2013 FLOAT Convention:
1. Be an expert in the field of balloon DECORATING, DELIVERIES OR RETAIL. We do not need instructors in the fields of balloon modeling, twisting or entertainment at this time.
2. Email us at Steve@BalloonDesigners.com on or before January 31st, 2012, with your interest in being considered.
3. Be willing to commit to the following criteria:
A. Must be available to be in attendance at the FLOAT Convention from Sunday, January 27th, through Thursday, January 31st.
B. Must be working in the balloon industry for at least five (5) or more years
C. Must be willing to room with an assigned roommate unless you are fully sponsored,
and then it will be up to your sponsor whether or not you have your own room.
4. Submit the following information:
A. Short bio of your career, including industry related accomplishments
B. Head shot photo
C. As many as three (3) possible class suggestions. Feel free to submit any related
support materials such as photos, sketches, etc, to support your proposals.
D. If interested, submit one (1) possible Master Class suggestion. Again, feel free to
submit any related support materials to support your proposal
Failure to follow Steps A, B and C will eliminate you from consideration.
HERE ARE A FEW THINGS TO REMEMBER:
1. There are currently only ten (10) teaching spots available at FLOAT. We can expand the offering to more instructors based on attendance and sponsorship levels down the road. But as of right now, there are only ten spots.
2. Priority is given to those individuals who meet some or all of the following criteria:
A. Have the full support of a sponsor, whether it be manufacturer, wholesaler or
industry retailer.
B. Have won industry related awards, particularly those awarded at conventions and
live competitions as opposed to photo submission contests.
C. Have supported FLOAT and Diet FLOAT in the past, either as an attendee,
previous instructor or crew member.
3. The FLOAT Management Team has final say over all instructor choices, and those decisions are final.
